Bios about the students:
My name is Lauren. I am from right here in the bay area. Most of my family from my mother's side lives just outside of Sacramento, in a small city called El Dorado Hills. I go up there to visit my grandparents and cousins a lot.
I don't garden that much anymore. I used to, back at my old house when we had a garden. We don't have one anymore so my interest was lost. Cooking pretty much just isn't in my vocabulary. The only I can cook is pasta..that is only because it's my favorite thing to eat. The biggest cook in my immediate family is my grandmother. She's Italian, so sometimes she makes big meals I help with.
My name is Hailey Kieslich. I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina. I moved here in 2007 with my parents, older brother and soon to be baby brother. My cousins and grand parents still live over there and once a year during the summer time we go and visit all of them.
I haven't really gardened that much, but sometimes i help my dad out with his tomato garden. I don't really cook that much either, but i like to watch my mom cook and see all the fresh vegetables
My name is Izabella, but i'd rather be called Bella. I was born in Silicon Valley. I have lots of family in the bay area which makes it very easy to go to birthday parties and family events ( which means i never have time on the weekends to do anything with my friends) I love to sing and dance. Especially, dancing.
I never was really interested in gardening; The only green thumb in the family is my grandmother. Her backyard is dedicated to all her plants. I try to help her take care of them, but the only I can do is water plants. I don't really like to cook. However, on occasion i'll cook, but i only know how to cook one thing. Spaghetti and meatballs.
My name is Amanda. I'm am from San Jose, California. I have family everywhere from here in California, Texas, and Mexico.
I don't really garden because if I did, it would fail. The closest thing I've done to gardening is planting plats in the backyard only for them to die and planting baby carrots for science class last year. The carrots did grow a bit to little carrots so it wasn't a fail that time.
My grandma who passed away was really good with plants. She would grow plants by talking to them which apparently seemed to work. One of the main plants she grew was cactus and they are still alive in the backyard in her old house. She also made really good Mexican food which I miss very much.
